Cool mornings, fresh air, glittering cobwebs, lengthy shadows as the sun sets… Winter offers so many great aspects.
Taking a walk and taking in the landscape is a terrific way to stay in shape both physically and mentally. On the other side, some people are unable to leave their houses. When the weather is terrible, our clients regularly tell us that getting about is tough.
If this is the case, take a few moments each day to appreciate the scenery from your window or garden. Pick up a pen and write a poem or draw a picture about why Winter is so beautiful.
In search of scarce Winter food, wildlife will flock to our gardens, balconies, and windowsills. Place sunflower seeds, peanuts, or fat balls on the table for them to consume, and remember to water them.
During the chilly months, sending cards or letters to loved ones, watching Christmas movies, spending time with family and friends, or simply wishing someone a “Merry Christmas” on the street can bring a sense of warmth and hope.
We’ll be able to get together on Christmas Day if the limits remain the same. “My daughter and grandchildren don’t live far away,” one of our consumers said. For Christmas, we’ll absolutely get together. “It’s something I’m excited about.”
Snuggling beneath a blanket with a hot beverage and something to watch or read is a relaxing habit that can be done at any time of year. Keeping warm during the cold winter months also keeps those pesky winter bugs at bay. We’ve made our decision!
One of the great aspects of the British seasons is that when one season ends, another begins. Consider how much we look forward to the blooming of early daffodils, the birth of new lambs, and the longer, sunnier days that come with the arrival of spring. It’s always accompanied by the idea that, after a long winter, we’ve all earned it!
